3rd Trimester

Not tired...

My sleep schedule has been sooo messed up lately and its getting really frustrating.  I only sleep for about 2 hours at a time and I usually only get about 4 to 6 hours of sleep a day...this wouldn't be a problem, but lately I have no kind of actual schedule, so my body doesn't know when to go to sleep and when to stay awake.

Right now, I should be sleeping, because we have to get up early and finish getting everything ready for our trip to KS...but I just cannot sleep.  My bf on the other hand is out cold beside me (I really want to dump cold water on him, just because I'm jealous lol) and will probably take forever to wake up and get motivated if I fall asleep sometime soon but don't wake up til later. = I've got to invest in a cattle prod for the man.

Arg.  Anyone else have trouble sleeping if they don't have a set schedule?

  • I had the exact same problem a few weeks ago. I would go to bed at 10pm. Sleep for 2 hours. THen I would be up and couldn't sleep again until the sun came up. It was SO annoying! I finally just started making myself stay in bed...even when I was wide awake. I'm back to sleeping most of the night. I'm on bed rest now so...I feel like I sleep 1/2 the day plus the night. I wish I didn't have to be relaxing so much. Oh well! Good Luck!! I hope you get some good sleep soon!
  • Ohhh...sleep...I remember what that was like once...its gotten to the point where I HAVE to take a Benadryl just to get a couple of hours of restless sleep.  My doctor ok'd it, and really I don't like that I do it, but I am so uncomfortable and crabby otherwise I have no choice.
  • Ugh, yeah my sleep schedule is partially why I am so afraid of bedrest.  I don't know what all reasons they can put you on it, but I know my BP is something they watch (oddly, i'm always on the very low end of the 'healthy' spectrum).  I used to sleep a TON...there for awhile a few weeks ago all I did was sleep...I'd be tired an hour after waking up.  Now i am not tired, no matter what.  Its so frustrating.
  • Ugh! I hate that! Try reading a book, it usually helps me get sleepy.
  • Just lately I am on that same wacky schedule.  2hrs sleep and two to three hours up, then two hours sleep again.  I only total about 4-6 hrs. too and it sucks!!!
