no poop for 24 hours?

Good morning.  It's my first time posting here.  Smile

My 3 week old hasn't had a poopy diaper in 24 hours.  I'm going to call her dr when his office is open and I read about possible constipation in babies, but I'm wondering if anyone here experienced it and what you did to help.  She isn't in pain and I think I've caught her straining to poop without any success.  She's breastfed and given formula about twice a day.  TIA!

    Sometimes my kids go days without pooping. It's ok.

    I had exact same issue. I called pedi and they said not to worry until after 2 days, but if I think that she was constipated to take her temp rectally cause it will stimulate poop or try cycling her legs and pulling them up to her chest. Our LO didn't poop till day 3 but then started pooping every 3 days like a champ and pedi said every baby has their own bowel habit. Now at 7 weeks old she goes once a day or every other day.?

    This happened to DD when she was about a week old.  She wasn't constipated.  Some babies just go every other day, or every 2 days.  She's on a regular every other day schedule.  My pedi said they don't consider it constipation till 3 days.  As long as she's still passing gas, she's ok.  It'll come out when it's ready.

    My LO went 7 days without a poop!  The pedi said after 10 days if she hasn't gone to call.  He said some babies poop 10 times a day and others once every 10 days!  Crazy!
