I have a few questions for those of you that had c/s:
1.) Did you have a lot of vaginal bleeding afterwards? For how long?
2.) What type of underwear did you find worked best? (Especially dealing with rise-are the low rise bikini's good or do those lay right on the incision?)
3.) In your opinon what is the best day of the week to induce if you had to? (i.e. when did you induce and would you rather have done it on another day?) TIA ladies!
Re: c/s moms
1.) I bled for two weeks and spotted for three.
2.) The hospital's mesh panties were the best until I could switch from a heavy flow pad to a regular thin overnight pad. At that point, I switched to granny panties. It sounds counter-intuitive, but you want a little protection over that healing wound.
3.) I wasn't induced, so N/A.
1.) Did you have a lot of vaginal bleeding afterwards? For how long?
#1 5 weeks
#2 6 weeks
2.) What type of underwear did you find worked best? (Especially dealing with rise-are the low rise bikini's good or do those lay right on the incision?)
NO LOW RISE! They hit right on the incision. Grannies or boy shorts.
3.) In your opinon what is the best day of the week to induce if you had to? I don't think it matters, I started the process on a Tuesday early and had my c-section Friday afternoon. 2nd section was planned.
1. Yes. A lot. For 6 weeks.
2. Hanes granny panties. Bikinis still don't fit very well because my incision left this ugly pooch thing and they roll right into my incision.
3. I would just induce whenever your prefered doctor is in rounds.
1.) Did you have a lot of vaginal bleeding afterwards? When I first got up after my section I was surprised at the flow. I had nothing to compare it to as this was my first child, but I'd say it was a fair amount.
For how long? I had pp bleeding until about 7-8 wks pp.
2.) What type of underwear did you find worked best? The mesh underwear they give you in the hospital are a godsend...but not visually pleasing in anyway. lol I didn't care at that point. At home? Granny panties! You don't want ANYTHING on that incision.
3.) In your opinon what is the best day of the week to induce if you had to? any day of the week ending in 'day'???
1. I bled for about 3 weeks. I've had spotting twice since then.
2. I wore the mesh panties that they gave you in the hospital for a while. I stole some extra packages. ;-) My bikini cut underwear hit the incision, so I went out and bought granny panties. Now I'm wearing my regular underwear again.
3. I was induced on Wednesday (not by choice) and discharged on Sunday. It worked out well since it was the weekend and it was quieter. Also more family/friends were able to visit which may or may not be a good thing.

#1 - VERY HEAVY bleeding for a week.. I'm still bleeding moderately at this point.
#2 - the mesh ones from the hospital are great..make sure you get a bunch to bring home with you! Boy shorts are working pretty good now.
#3 - Don't know if there is a "best" day to induce considering you have no idea how long it will take. My only recommendation is that you go to get induced at night, that way if you have to get the 12 hour cervadil you can just get it and go to sleep. I started induction at 8pm wed. and had my c/s 2am fri.
1. Not a lot of bleeding but it is still coming. Too much for a liner, too little for a bulky pad.
2. Granny panties and the mesh ones from the hospital (try to take some!) I have been wearing low rise but they do lie close if not on the incision and can be annoying.
3. I was induced in a Wednesday night because I had to be although I was scheduled for the following Monday. The days I was there (in labor for 30 hours which led to an emergency c section) l & d was jam packed with people waiting for bed space but I didn't notice. You lose track of the days anyway.
