Re: Holy Crap!! Got My Hospital Bill Today

  • We're nearing $100,000 for my c-section/three-night hospital stay plus DS's one week NICU stay.  :)  Thank God for awesome insurance.  So far, we've only had to pay $250.

  • Eek! Yeah...can't wait to get ours.
  • Does that include the anesthesiologist?  I got my hospital bill but it was only $6K.  But I did not get my epi bill yet, and I think they are separate.  I had to pay $500.

  • No kidding.  Insurance kept us from having to spend more than $50!

  • Mine was 37k for a standard scheduled c/s. Tues AM to Fri AM.  That does not include my OB's fees and anesthisiologists.

Out of pocket we have to pay somwhere around 4500.  The insurance was decent, thank God we have better insurance now.

  • My epi bill was $4,000 and change -- included in the bill.
  • Holy sh!t..thank god for insurance our bill was $110,000 eek!

  • Hospital billed $4000 (no epi), paid $700

    Doctor billed $ 2700, paid $500

Hospital (baby) billed $1700, paid $140

This is all after my deductible was met from chiropractor appts and lab work.

  • Our bills were close to $300,000 for three days in the hospital for me and my daughter's six-week NICU stay. We are having to pay about $5,000. A big chunk of change, but I can't complain. At least it's not the whole 300K!
  • I feel ya on this! I was in the hospital for 4 nights and DD was in the NICU for 9 days and we came in around $90,000. We paid $25 at my 1st OB appt.

  • That is crazy! It makes me so mad because my entire bill with pre & post natal care & the birth was only $2500 & insurance won't cover it at all. They only covered labs.?

  • What do you do if you don't have insurance? Hold it in? Is there some hospital you can go to for treatment if you don't have insurance? I'm Canadian and we don't have to pay for this stuff so I never really thought about it.
