I would spend the money, plus a little more, on a better stroller. JMO, and I know a lot of people who have the travel system strollers and think they're fine, but I hated every second of pushing them around the store. We spent a little more money and got a great stroller that has some different features and love it.
We use our Chicco Cortina all the time. Will probably go to a smaller stroller in a few years. But I wanted to ask if you've tested out the Metrolites. Because a friend of mine has it and it really is a lightweight, smaller stroller than your average full-size. She was hesitant too about getting a full-size stroller and loves this!
I haven't tested it yet. It got good reviews and goes with our car seat. In the description it says I can use it for an infant without the car seat as well.

Yep, this is true. I'd test it out and see what you think compared to the other smaller strollers. You might find that it's a nice compromise between a big full-size and limited features umbrella stroller.
