I've been thinking and thinking about this. Are you really 100% supporting the troops if you're not supporting their fight? I was leaning towards "no", but maybe I've just been thinking about it too long and need new perspective.

Re: Can you really just support the troops, but not the war?
I guess I try to put it in perspective. It would be like me telling DH I support his profession, but not where he is working. I guess it makes sense in a way.
ETA - I support the war though.
i %100 percent absolutely believe that you can. ?my DH was in the Marines and i totally support that he was in. ?do i support the war? i did at first, and now i think that we really shouldnt be there, but i also believe we should clean up the mess we made, so gradually taking them out of iraq is the way to go
?
but yeah you can definitely support the cause, just not neccesarily the situation?
I don't often agree with you and rarely see your POV, but this makes total sense to me.

I agree with this.
agreed.
I think you can definitely support our troops but not the war. ?I don't agree with all that we are doing overseas, but I am forever grateful to our troops for their service to us. ?Whether they are in Iraq,?Afghanistan?or stationed here at home, they are willing to give their lives so that I can have an opinion. ?
Exactly. My husband already was there for 15 months and he is now there serving a 12 month tour. Neither of us agree with it but I totally support him and everyone else there. There are many guys my husband is with that are there because that is their job but they don't agree with the whole war.
