I'm 38 weeks and contacting an alternative MD who will deliver breech. Has anyone had any luck dodging a c-section, or any success turning your babies late?
My dd was breech and the thought didn't even cross my mind. The c-section wasn't bad at all and I was more than happy to have my daughter the safest way possible.
DS was breech and I had a csection. My doc said her practice would only consider breech vaginal deliveries for moms who had already had successful regular vaginal delivers. Sorry I'm not more help!
You might want to check with midwives in your area. It is out of their scope of practice in my state, but I'm not sure where you live. A friend of mine found an OB who delivered her baby breech (because he was older and was taught how in medical school - I wouldn't go to any provider who wasn't experienced with breech delivery) but she drove several hours away from home and stayed there until she went into labor. I had a c-section for my breech baby and would have attempted a vaginal delivery if I could find a local doctor who would do it.
My dd was breech as well. I had a version procedure scheduled to try to turn her, but just ended up with the c-section. I was really scared about the idea of a c-section too bc I had never had any kind of surgery before--it's not that bad. You will be fine, but good luck!
