  This is one of my biggest vocabulary pet peeves.  and yes, to unthaw, you would need to put the item BACK in the freezer!!!

  You know when your ice cream is melting away and you need to un-thaw it;)  I have never heard that and would be so baffled if I saw it in a recipe!

  DH says "de-thaw" and I cringe every time.

  I have always said de-thaw. Never thought about it twice.

  Oh no, I think I say unthaw!  I've never ever thought about it.  I hate having bad grammar.
