2nd Trimester

WHOA! What happened?!

The other week I weighed myself at home and in all, I had gained 5 lbs.  Then I go to the dr. today and I've gained 10!  Yikes!  That was a fast 5 lbs!

Oh, yeah...just remembered...I've spent a lot of time at Sonic lately...hehehe...

Re: WHOA! What happened?!

  • I'm the opposite. I thought I'd gained 5 lbs, but really I'd only gained 2lbs.

  • My scale at home isn't calibrated like the one at the doctors office.  It always weighs me about 5lbs less than when the Dr. does it.

Needless to say, I like my home scale better...

  • Hehe, at my first appt I had gained 2 lbs and at my last one I had gained 7lbs. I didn't mind at all though. I'm exercising, eating healthy, and my midwife wasn't worried about it. 10lbs in 20 weeks, I'm not going to complain about that.

It's so funny though to work your whole life at maintaining or losing weight and then to just poof, with no effort at all, gain 10lbs without even realizing it!

  • awww man you mentioned sonic.  i miss sonics terribly.  none close to me

  • My scale at home is weird. It said I hadn't gained anything at all when I had gained 6 pounds, then it jumped up to saying I had gained 10 pounds in less than a week.

At the doctor it's been a gradual increase. 10 pounds total as of yesterday. I just think my scale at home is broken.

  • I had the same problem but the gain was 6 lbs. This was VERY early in the pregnancy and I almost had a heart attack (I think it was my 8 week appt). I went right home and re-weighed myself. It was 6lbs less than it said in the office. Turns out my scale and the office scale are exactly 6lbs different. I hadn't gained an ounce.

  • It could be what time you're weighing yourself. I always weigh myself in the morning, and by the time the afternoon rolls around its almost always 3-5lbs heavier.

But it's probably the docs scale, because my docs is always at least 3lbs heavier then my scale at home, especially if I have an afternoon appointment.

  • Yeah I'm way up! But it's over a matter of a month and the doc yelled at me about possibly getting GD. Um not good!
