Teachers: Continue to pump in new school year

Hello. I am a teacher and pumped from Jan-June at work. It went well for me, but there were times when timing was off because no one could cover my class/they take too long to figure this out (I give them enough notice). I am thinking about continuing to pump until this Dec. when DS turns one (if all works out with my supply).

Just wondering, if you've been in this situation and how did admin react when you told them.

    I didn't pump after I went back to school, but another teacher had her baby 3 months after me and did.  They were super flexible and totally understood.  I think everyone understands.  I plan to with my second baby.

    I'm not a teacher but just wanted to say that if I were you, I would also want to continue pumping and I would let the admin know and hope you don't have to explain your reasons since it shouldn't be a problem.

    I was able to pump during my conference and lunch times without involving admin.  DD turns 1 in October so I'll only pump 1x/day for 2 months and then wean myself from the daily pumping.  I think it is worth it to make it to a year!

    My admin never would've questioned it. Unfortunately, my supply all but dropped off when DD was about 7 1/2 months so I had to stop that October. But all of the teachers were supportive and helped me find a good closet to use (many others had previously used the same space). I don't remember ever discussing it w/ the admin.
