BG 3.0 - How long did yours last?

I've read a lot of reviews on the one-size BG 3.0 and most of them say the velcro and elastic wear out after a while.  DD is almost 8months, would they last until potty training or should I look for something else?

I found a lot of 10 one-size BG 3.0's for $80 and these reviews are the only thing stopping me.

  • I've had ours (purchased new) for about 14 months now without issue.  I bought some used that I did have some elastic issues with but I had them repaired (which was inexpensive and quick) and now they're just fine.  I don't know how old those ones were though.

  • If you sew at all you can replace velcro tabs, strips and elastic.  I bought a large lot of 2.0 and 3.0 for a similar price to what you found.  I'm getting ready to replace the elastic on a couple of the oldest ones, but they work just fine and definitely give me lots of room to maneuver my  CD laundry days.  :o)

Thank you! I can sew and I think I will purchase these if still available. On my way to start CDing! Smile

  • I air dry the outer pocket part of the BG 3.0 and I feel like that helps to preserve the velcro. Doesn't take long at all.

I think it also depends on how big your stash is, that is to say how much each one gets used and laundered. I have 6 BG 3.0's that we only use for away from home and sometimes nights, they are without a problem after a year.
  • We bought ours at the Cotton Baby store. When I asked them this question, they told me that many people only air dry the diapers. In order to make the velcro sticky they have to be put in the dryer sometimes. If the ones you get seem like they are not sticky enough, try the dryer first. :)
  • We had ours for about 7-8 months when I had to send them back for replacement because the velcro was falling apart.

  • We have had ours for a year and no issues with velcro or elastic.  I mostly line dry the outer shell but throw them in the dryer every now and then.  And I make sure to clean out the tabs pretty often.

I've had mine for 7 months and they are still great. ?I plan on replacing the velcro and whatever else is needed once DD is potty trained and use them for the next baby.
  • We're having problems with the velcro sticking now, after 10 months. We don't own a dryer, so can't do that. I'm considering re-velcro-ing them, or having someone put snaps on them. I've had no elastic problems though, and am very happy with them in every other way.
