I am 28 weeks and 1day. I have been having terrible back pain for about a month. They're not cramp-like, just the typical back pain from my uterus stretching outwards. After sitting or standing for long periods of times, my back pain is really out of control. At work I am on my feet alot, constantly walking, but when I sit for too long, it still hurts...But it's way too early for me to go on maternity leave, I just cant win..

But Its sooooo hard to get comfortable nowadays...=(....Anyone else?
Re: Back Pain..?
Well, lucky for you, you dont have much longer to go. Me on the other hand?....
..lol...Good luck with everything.
I am on my way to physical therapy this morning - it has changed my life in the past 8 weeks. Seriously. I am a dentist and I was hunching over people + uterus = PAIN.
One trick at home that I learned: put a tennis ball between your back and the wall and roll up against it. You'll feel like an idiot, but it really helps. My PT said to make sure it is a tennis ball so that it has some give and doesn't cause more problems.
See if your doc can refer you - I have coverage for this even though I don't for most things, so it can't hurt to ask!

In the same boat. If i sit or stand too long.. or even sometimes when i lay. I had my dr appointment on friday and we discussed Sciatica. And he gave me a few tips to help even tho nothing really helps take it away. But he said to see a physical therapist and then try massages along with warm baths and such.
I try to keep myself moving around and just try to push thru the pain. So far its been ok and working. But he said its very common especially in 3rd tri.
Good luck to you and just remember only a few more wks left till your LO is here!!!
lol...I second that emotion...
