I have a few "older" family members that actually do have 2 mn's, but asking the newer generation, I find that there are far and few. What do you all think? It is still appropriate?

Nicholas Jacob born on 06/30/2009, 9.5lbs and 21 1/4" long

Joshua Scott 5.3lbs & Jonathan Matthew 6.2lbs, born 08/31/10

Re: Do people still have 2 MN's ?
I have two middles names., Johannah Reilly..it makes for a loooong name, but it works and its my great grandmothers first/last name.
I think if there is good flow to the name why not.
I do and it's annoying. I have Rose, followed by my mom's maiden name as a second middle name. Then, when I added my married last name (not wanting to lose my maiden name), I couldn't delete my second middle name without going to court. Now I have five names! My name is two lines long on my license. People always squint at it and ask which one is my last name. I really would have preferred to only have one mn.
I think you were misinformed about having to go to court to change your name when you got married -- unless it's a specific rule in your state. I live in VA & had no problem dropping my middle name when I got married & changed my name with SS & my drivers license. I just did it all at once.
I went from First Middle Maiden to First Maiden Married.
To the OP, we gave our son 2 mn's. His passport & SS card have all 4 names, but when space is an issue we drop the 2nd mn.
DD only has one middle name.
