Fun, huh? So for the last several years I've have very light periods. Like so light I can use a pantyliner and not have any accidents. I take out practically dry tampons after 8-10 hours. (I know, I'm not supposed to leave them in too long.)
When I was a teenager I had normal, heavy periods. But then I started Depo and I didn't have a period for 3 years while on that. Then I stopped depo and started Ortho Evra and had been on that until March (about 5 years). I had heavy periods at first on OE, but they slowly changed to what they have become. Which I know was caused by OE. But I'm still having very light periods and next to no cramps (although this AF has been a little more miserable).
Now I didn't write that book to brag about my light periods. I'm truely concerned. I'm afraid this will somehow affect my ability to get pregnant. I've asked my MD about it several times and she keeps telling me that it shouldn't affect anything. I'm not sure I believe her. What do you gals think? I mean, if there's not much lining in my ute, then how is the embryo supposed to implant?
I have to leave for work, but I'll be back. So if you have any questions or comments, I'll get back with you!
Re: Let's talk about blood for a second!
I don't really know. Since your body might still be adjusting from coming off the BC, I would give it a little longer then seek a 2nd opinion.
TCOYF suggests seeing a doctor because of this:

I'm no expert but wouldn't it have to do with the fact that the OE is tricking your body into thinking it's pregnant already so your not ovulating, etc. and there's less uterine lining to shed?
Just a thought that may ease your mind....
My periods were very very light just like yours when I came of BC. My OB said it was fine, as long as it was there, it didnt matter. She also told me not to wish for more!
I did go on to get pregnant rather quickly. Although, it ended in a m/c, that was a chromosonal problem, not at all related to my uterine lining.

Good question. I wonder the same thing. My current doc isn't concerned, but a doctor in the past (when I was in college and certainly wasn't on the TTC path) was concerned.
In the land of TMI..stop here if you are squeamish...I am trying to get serious about measuring the flow so if we end up at the RE in a couple of months I will have solid data rather than just a general description on the volume. Measuring may sound pretty intense, but I use a Diva Cup, so it is quite easy for me because it has volume markers on the cup. It will require no extra work, save for writing down the info.
