I never knew that pregnant women have to get their butts swabbed at some point in the 3rd trimester. I still don't know much about this - only that it happens and it doesn't sound like fun. And I'm not sure I want to know. Sometimes ignorance is bliss.
Eh. You probably won't even know when the Dr. does it, really. I think mine just did it during an internal exam when he was already down there. It's not like they stick it up in there. ; )
I didn't know that when you are bfing, if you hear another crying baby it can make you leak. Not many people that I knew bf, so there is A LOT I didn't know about bfing.
never heard of that.. sounds like a wife's tale
Oh no-it's true. Very true. Happened to me several times.
sounds like someone is playing a prank on me with this... i guess i'll think of you ladies when it happens to me.
but i'm now more nervous than before
It is NOT, trust me. Learned that on my first at Target once. Any crying baby sets me off like a faucet.
I just learned something new right now.. i didnt know you are suppose to use cotton balls. also, i thought you just got hemorrhoids after (from pushing) not during pregnancy... grrrr...
That I would lose a lot of hair. I thought pregnant women had nice full heads of hair...not this one! I have more fall out each day than I did each week pre-pg.
I don't think I realized how tired I would be during 1st tri. I didn't have sickness, but man did I sleep!!! I also never really realized how big 10cm was until I saw a 10cm circle drawn next to a 1cm circle. Yeah, that's about enough to give a girl a heart attack. I also don't think I knew how much I would cry. I cry about anything at any given time. It's pretty ridiculous.
Hmm, what else. I didn't know that lying on your left side could increase circulation and I didn't know that we were supposed to avoid lunch meat (I still eat it though).

I have the same problem! It's incredibly frustrating. I thought your hair stopped falling out while pregnant!
I wish I had known that so many friends would forget that I'm a person who works and has a life and not just a walking incubator. I don't think I've had a conversation that didn't somehow lead back to my pregnancy in weeks except with DH.

Can't just list one thing.
1. Snail trail.
2. The butt swab thing.
3. What it really means to be tired...I used to be lazy, now I'm tired!
4. How overwhelming it can be to register....so many options.
5. That childbirth classes are offerred a the local college, not the hospital.
This!!!

SO many things...
That whole snail trail thing (luckily no experience personally)
Didn't know what lightening crotch was until last week
Didn't know that sneezing or blowing your nose could cause RLP to get WAY worse
Didn't know what sciatic nerve pain was or where it was located until 2 days ago
and my fave is I didn't know a 15 week old baby could kick so hard it could HURT...My little kungfu master literally made me yelp last night!
