The Dallas?

Anyone live(d) there? I have never been there but it sounds like DH next job will be there. Isn't it hot there? Its not that far away from Portland so I'm not complaining too much about a move out there. He was also offered a job in Anchorage but I put my foot down and said thats way to far away from both our fams.
