I start out on my left, but I necessarily don't wake up on my left. I switch from left, back to right. Not sure why my body still likes laying on my back. I can't break the habit and I don't notice any numbness from it. I do sleep with two pillows at the end of my bed for my legs/feet to be elevated.
i switch back and forth, and often find myself waking up on my back, and then i go to one side. i will be so glad not to have to do that in a little over a month!
I start out on my left side but every time I get up to go to the bathroom (at least 4 times per night), I lay back down on the opposite side I woke up on. If I lay on one side for too long, I get awful pain in my hips and my sciatic bothers me all the next day. I also sleep with a pillow between my legs and that seems to help at least a little bit.
No, in fact I'm more comfortable on my right side!!! I also often roll a little bit forward, so I'm not completely on my side (between side and stomach)
Re: Do you ONLY sleep on your left side?
Dito. My legs will fall asleep too if I wake up on my back. I hate it.
this.
I have to sleep on my right side, due to Allie snuggling her head up into my ribs on my left side.
On the rare occasion that I can lay on my left side, she shifts and starts cutting off my blood supply (laying either on my vena cava or artery).?
my left shoulder is shot - if I slept on it, I'd be crying. I sleep however I feel comfiest.
Seriously, your body will tell you if something is wrong - it will hurt.

I can't sleep on one side for long otherwise my hips hurt, so I switch many times throughout the night.
Your numbness might be because your LO is more on that side.
This is how I sleep too.
