Target registry return question...

Ok, so I received a few things at a small work shower that I want to return/exchange for different sizes at Target......it's all newborn clothing items (with a weight range of 5-8 lbs), but they are all long sleeves and long pants......my baby is due Aug. 5th, so I won't use these "colder-weather" items.

The gift giver gave me the receipt, however it is damaged....you can't read a single thing on it. She actually gave me the orignal receipt which has the gift receipt attached to it. On both of them, the ink is completely rubbed off....you can't read a receipt #, VCD # (no idea what that is, but it's at the bottom of all my other gift receipts). You can see prices, but no description of what the items are other than a few letters.

Oh, and probably most importantly, the barcodes are only half there.

None of my other Target gift receipts have faded - and what is strange, is she bought the items on 6/1/09 and gave me the gift with receipt on 6/9/09, so it's not like it sat in her purse for months and months.

Do you think Target will take the items back and give me a refund, or atleast exchange them for another size?

    She might have left them in the car window or on the seat in the sun.

    If they can't read or scan the receipt they can do a "no receipt return".  It's where you use your driver's license to do the return.  You can do up to $70.  If you have already reached your max you could use your husbands.  Good luck!

    Thanks, I did not know this was an option. I will try tomorrow and see what happens.

    If you have a target reg try adding it to it online.
