Healthy snacks

I am a nanny and am looking for snack ideas to give the kids.  TIA

Re: Healthy snacks

  • Fruit smoothie popsicles are good.  I love smoothies and someone on another board told me to freeze it into popsicles.  I did and my sister and brother loved them (they are 10 and 6)

  • slices of apples with peanut butter on crackers.

celery with peanut butter and raisins on top (Ants on a log)

cut up veggies to dip in low fat ranch, cheese slices or cubes.

pretzels with cut up fruit that may be in season.

I thought this was cute, I haven't used it yet.

    FISH IN A POND

fish in a pond 1/2 cup low-fat cream cheese or cheese spread
    Fish-shaped crackers
    4 celery ribs, stems removed

Scoop the cream cheese into a bowl. (You can tint the cream cheese with blue food coloring to make it look like a pond.) Place the goldfish in a separate bowl, or surround the "pond" with them. Let the kids dip the celery sticks into the cheese, then into the bowl of crackers to "catch" a fish. Serves 2.
