Spray Tan?

Hi ladies, seeing as my OBGYN's office is closed at the moment, I thought I'd get a faster answer on here.

Have any of you spray-tanned while pregnant?  I read mixed things online.  I have a wedding to go to this weekend and I'm considering spray tanning to look hot :-)

 Bad idea?  TIA Smile

Re: Spray Tan?

  • I'm pretty sure no research has been done on spray-tanning while pregnant.

  • I did about a week ago and so did my sister who is 27 weeks along. My girl uses all natural products tho. Maybe ask the place ? But I think one time you will be fine.
  • i didn't spray tan but i used sunless tanner and my ob said that was perfectly safe.
  • I would not do the booth- but you could have someone spray you so you are less likely to inhale.

  • Your baby will come out orange. with 3 ears.

No, just kidding, you should be fine just doing it once or so. ?Just don't let too many fumes into your system.?

is that a maternity dress is your siggy pic, or regular dress?  It's really really pretty!

thanks! Its a regular dress from Forever 21. It was perfect for Hawaii Big Smile

  • I wouldn't be to concerned about spray tan. It can't be much worse than dying your hair right? I would not call my doc after hours to ask that question though.

  • I've done it twice now, I just "didn't inhale" :)

  • i dont think much will hurt u if u only do it once, but maybe wait til morn to find out for sure from your doctor!! =)
  • I get a spray tan once or twice a week and have been doing it for about 3 months now.  I try not to enhale the fumes, but it really isn't harmful.  I spoke with my OB about it.  Plus, for me, a tan mommy is a happy mommy and a happy mommy is a happy baby (within reason of course).

  • just did it today as well...did it two weeks ago. the fumes arent really that bad and if you think they are just hold your breath :) it takes all of what 30 seconds so I think you are fine

  • My ob said no to spray tan and to sunless tanner, which I was really annoyed about . . . I am a very pale Irish girl!  But I did find a great body bronzer at Sephora (Lorac Tantalizer) that is just basically body makeup that gives you a glow and then washes off . . . it's great!

    I soooo LOL'd at this :) ?

  • I did it at Planet Tan, it is a sugar based formula so as long as you are diabetic or anything then you should be fine. ?I did it before a wedding I was in a few weeks ago, I did stand in the booth because it is much cheaper. ?I didn't feel like I inhaled much or anything like that. ?I hope that helps.
