Glider that does not look like a glider...

I'm looking for ideas for a glider/rocking chair. I want something that is reusable and not too nursery-ish looking. Would like to be able to keep it for use later.

I was hoping to find a leather rocker/recliner, but everything I see looks too grandma's house for me. Any ideas of where to look for something more trendy but functional?

I couldnt find a leather one, and I looked everywhere (ok ones I did find were out of my budget) I ended up with an beautiful upholstered one form craigslist, because I think those wood ones are ugly as hell......

so, i would try craigslist first - BRU, PB, Land of Nod all have cool ones but they will get you with shipping and handling! Also JCPenney had some great ones online but none in the store, and i did not want to spend another 200 on S&H......?

We ordered the Braxton model made by Best Chair and we love it! It is a fully upholstered swivel glider and we got it in chocolate brown, so that it would fit in with the rest of our house. We ordered it through a adult furniture and it was a much more affordable way to go. The also had a model we liked called Tripp that was a glider/recliner.

Here's the one that we got. I like that it's tan microfiber- it matches our sofa exactly- and we're planning on moving it to the den when we are done with it in the nursery.

We ordered ours from Lazboy. SOme of the styles are grandma-ish, but we were able to find a few models that match our modern tastes. Plus, they can cover it in just about any fabric you want.

We saw the one we got at Ashley Furniture. I think it was $499 and I don't think it looks to "grandma-ish". https://tinyurl.com/mu4yp8

We didn't buy it right away because I wanted to make sure that is what I wanted.

We went to Big Lots a couple days later to get batteries and I happened to see the same glider (made by Ashley Furniture too) for $299. So we definately snatched it up and saved $200!

best chairs (storytime series) and dutalier both make glider that look like regular armchairs. I can't speak to dutalier but Best chairs are super comfy & have tons of fabric options.?

Best chairs are amazing! It is the most expensive purchase we made for our nursery, but I know it will be worth it. We plan to use it in our family room after the nursery.
