I'm terrible. Let DD swallow....

a wooden dowel.

Those kind that are used in furniture that you put together yourself. It's only about an inch long and an eigth inch around. She swalled it no problem. She's acting just fine.

Should I be worried? I think it will just pass through (hopefully not painfully) in a few days. Is there any reason to think that I should worry?

Has anyone else let DC swallow something stupid? I feel so dumb.

  • Call the pedi and check, but I would think you are fine and it will pass with no problems.

  • I would call the pedi because an inch is pretty big.

I agree...an inch is actually pretty long for a baby.  I would def. call

yeah, I'm thinking that if it tries to come out horozontally instead of vertically, you could have issues.

  • I would be freaking! I probably would have went to ER.  That is the crazy type mom I am but in reality she will probably pass it fine. I would call pedi in case just to see what they say.  Like pp said what if it comes out sideways?
