Chaffing problem (possible TMI)

Now I could only ask this here...I think underneath my right boob may be chaffing, but this has never happened to me so I'm really not sure.  It has been in the 90s for over a week in St. Louis and my already upgraded bra is a bit snug.  I am wearing a new bra today and am going for my monthly OB appointment this afternoon, but thought you all could offer some suggestions.

Well to begin with I originally was a D cup, now a DD and a size up around too.  Never had the perkiest of gals but now I def don't.  I finally got a DD cup over the weekend because they literally didn't fit in the cups any more!  I noticed yesterday when showering that the underneath of my areola was raised up (puffy in just that spot), kind of dry, but not painful yet.

Any ideas of what this could be and if you've experienced it, what are your suggestions on healing it?  I'm sure my doctor (who's a man) will give me suggestions he learned in med school, but I think I'd trust ones from a woman who's had it over him in this matter! :)

Oh, yes indeed.  I was actually enjoying not exposing myself at every doctor's visit since being pregnant (after all my visits with the vag cam)...there goes that one today!  He's an awesome doctor, but he's still a guy!

  • I'm not really clear on your exact problem, but since summer hit here and we've had temps over 100 regularly, powder has been my new best friend - especially when I'm going to be anywhere near outside for ANY amount of time.  (I'll probably be COVERED in it before my shower on Saturday just in case I step outside!)

Just a sprinkle in spots that tend to rub (in my case under the boobs) and it's so much more bearable.

Usually I use baby powder, but on really hot days I'll break into DH's Gold Bond powder - that stuff is pretty amazing!

Your OB may have better options for your specific problem areas, but if not, I highly recommend picking up a bottle of either!

  • Sounds like just a dry spot if it doesn't hurt and is puffy.   I would just use lotion for a few days and see if it goes away or even neosporin sp? if it isn't a large spot.
