3rd Trimester

So what now?

Sorry ladies I just need to vent.  I work at a high risk pregnancy home care company and yesterday i had enough of my headache (going on 6 days).  Its mild and not like a migraine and its not pounding either. My eyes feel strained and and my ears are stuffy but not like a cold.  I talked to a couple of nurses (i am not a RN) that I work with and they told me to call my doctor about the headaches. I called and he is in surgery all day.  Ok so then they tell me to go to L+D to check signs of Pre-eclampsia.  Ok so I leave work and head on down there.  They check my urine...no protien.  They check my blood preasure.  The first reading was high becasue i was nervouse and they repeated the BP check every 15 minutes.  It was in the range of 115/69..PERFECT.  They took blood to did a complete check...everything is fine.  So do I chalk this up to a hormone surge since I am starting the third tri tomorrow.   Did anyone have this too going into there third tri?  I see my doctor next tuesday and I feel bad bugging him after I had a complete work up and the hsp said nothing is wrong.  I know there is not much they can do and the nurses I work with think every symptom is HIGH RISK,

Re: So what now?

  • At this point, having ruled out all of the bad stuff, I'd get in bed in a dark room and stay put for a while.  The computer and TV screens are going to make you feel worse.

    Hope you feel better soon!

  • Don't worry about bothering your dr. That's what he's there for.  I would want a solution.

  • just relax.... you're probably just nervous...and btw I would give my last cookie to get a bp reading of 115/69... Mine normally reads 149/86..... I'm still not considered high risk....that should make you feel a tad better. Smile

  • i had a week or so of a bad headache that pounded and just seemed to not go away - it was like a bad hangover almost - but it wasn't any of the bad stuff either.  since tylenol is the only thing you can really take, i would try it but otherwise just go sleep it off.  mine did eventually go away and hasn't come back in a couple weeks.
