...when my kid has gone to birthday parties for so many of his classmates over the last 2 years, and most of those same kids aren't coming to his, and their parents give no reason for not coming. A-holes.
Ugh, how disappointing! I think it's really important to accept invitations and attend birthday parties, especially at this age. I agree with you - that stinks!
Yeah, I'm sure he won't notice, and it's not that I think he'll be bothered by it. It's that I'm bothered by it. Partially because I'm just doing the mama bear thing, but also I'm bothered that their parents aren't make the same effort that we did for theirs. You know? I guess that's asking for a lot!
I'd be ticked too. But if you actually got rsvps from them then I think that's doing good - I got no response from most of DD's daycare friends, only the kids coming rsvp'd.

It's the curse of the summer birthday. After a few years of my birthday parties having no one show up, when my sister & brother always had a crowd, my parents said no more birthday parties for any of us.
So sorry this happened. I would at least try to give a reason and send along a present.. but then again I'm thoughtful like that. I guess I get to look forward to this because I'll also have a summer baby. Maybe I'll throw her parties while school is still on since a lot of people vacation during the summer... I don't know.
Re: It's really upsetting...
I'm sorry, that sucks. Luckily he is young enough not to know.
You know, you're leaving the country so if you wre to tell them what you think......... ; )
