that is true, BMHs Nicu is level 3 and P'ville is level 2, which pretty much means that BMH can handle the most premature (23-24 weekers) where P'ville can handle more graduated preemies (32+ weekers). we had a great experience with BMH Nicu when my daughter was transferred there last fall
Do you have a reason to believe that you will need to use a more elaborate NICU? If your past experiences and current pregnancy indicate that your birth will probably be a pretty smooth experience (as much as you can possibly gather about the unknown) and you've liked Pville before and thats convenient for you Id just stay there. They do have a level II NICU afterall which is more than enough to handle most complications. I realize that you may just be preparing for the worst possible scenario so if it gives you peace of mind to know that there is a level III NICU, then go to Bryn Mawr just for the stress relief.

I live in Phoenixville and I am delivering at Bryn Mawr...I haven't heard the best things about P-ville's l&d but all I've ever heard about BM is raves and raves..I also have been going to be obgyn for years and they are affliated with BM and Lankeanu.
I live in Phoenixville (I can see the hospital from my living room couch) and we chose to deliver at Bryn Mawr. I talked to a lot of people who were not at all impressed with their deliveries at Phoenixville. If you delivered there before and had no issues, though, maybe you will feel more comfortable sticking with what you know.
The NICU was also a big reason why I chose BM. I do not anticipate any issues (knock on wood), but I feel better knowing I will be at the best hospital in case something does go wrong.
I live in Limerick... and my first thought would be to deliver at Phoenixville since my ob/gyn is right there and it's close. Plus, I was born there 30 years ago and I seemed to have been OK... and I was 6 weeks premature, so if they could handle me back then, I'm sure they can handle anything now. But I have been going to an RE at Bryn Mawr and figured I'd check that out too. I also heard that Paoli Hospital has a really good facility, and that's not too terribly far either.
