Remember my baby furniture delivery problems? The store closed!

A quick recap.  I ordered my Munire crib and dresser from a small chain baby furniture store in October 2008 and it was promised in 8-16 weeks.  To make a long story short 16 weeks came and I didn't have any furniture. I spent weeks calling to inquire when my furniture would be delivered and was told over and over that it was going to be in any day.  I went as far as contacting Munire and the Munire sales rep for the store to try and find out when my stuff would be delivered.  My DH finally took over dealing with them because I was so stressed out about it.  It was finally delivered as we were driving home from the hospital!  It took 21 weeks to come in.

DH just called to tell me to watch the news.  The store we ordered the furniture from closed its doors!  Now all of these poor parents that have spent a TON of money on furniture have nothing and no answers!  I feel so bad for these customers.  They interviewed a lady that is due in 4 weeks and she ordered her crib, dresser, and glider all from this store and has nothing!  I remember how stressful it was for us and I'm so thankful that we got our stuff before this happened.

Michigan girls -  it's The Baby's Room...apparently all 4 locations have closed their doors.

    Wow, that really sucks! I feel so bad for the families-to-be. How crappy, I guess they are out their money? I bought dd's crib, dresser, chair and ottoman from The Baby's Room in GA and I had not problems thank goodness! I feel so bad for the families I would be freaking out!

    That's awful.  I couldn't imagine that stress.  Baby furniture is expensive.  From what I'm reading, they aren't getting their money back?

    Wow.... I was "this close" to ordering my furniture from them almost 3 weeks ago. I ordered the same stuff through buy buy baby instead. Whew!!!

    That sounds like my wedding dress saga. I finally got my dress a month before our dw (after threatening legal action and calling the media) but then they up and closed and a lot of women were left without their gowns. It was awful.
