For those of you with housekeepers.

Does your housekeeper show up at the same time for each appointment? Mine are supposed to be here at 11am and they show up as early as 8a or as late as 4-5p. I wouldn't mind but it throws off my day, and I have to be here when they arrive so I can let our dogs out. Should I start looking for a new company that can get here on time. I think it would bother me less if they would call me and let me know when they would be here, or be honest about the time when I call them. Btw, who do you use?

    We use EMJ Cleaning Service and they always show up at 8am every other Tuesday.  I like knowing when they will be here for the same reasons you mentioned.  I have friends who also use them, though, and say they come at different times.  So, it may be how you set up your appointments with them.  Maybe you can call your current person (people) and ask if they can come at the same time every appointment (even though this should be understood by the fact that they told you 11am) and see how that goes if you are otherwise happy with them?

    We use a woman who just works independently, and she's actually taking a hiatus right now because of some personal issues, but she doesn't always come at the same time.  It's okay with us because she has a key and lets herself in and out, but I think that your company definitely should tell you honestly when they're going to be there!

    Tell them you're going to have to go with another company if they can't get there reasonably close to their promised time.  Three hours early or six hours late is really unacceptable!

    We use a woman that someone off of the Nest recommended.  She is always on time which is great b/c my husband and I have a deal--I can have a cleaning service, but I have to be home when they are here.  I am a teacher, so I am home now for the summer, but during the school year she is always here waiting for me when I come home on the day that I am scheduled for.

    We use Nooks and Crannies Cleaning and she comes at the same time each visit, unless I tell her otherwise.  She always calls me the night before to confirm that we are still on for the same time the next day.  She usually comes w/ 2 other girls, but will let me know if she's not going to be there for some reason.  I love my cleaning service and am happy to pass along her contact information, if you are interested.
