Re: Since we're talking birthday parties....
We are doing a sweet shop/ice cream social so not sure my list will help much.
Ice cream with fixins
Cupcakes baked in an ice cream cone
ice cream cone cake balls
Neapolitan cream pie
cookie sandwiches
Neapolitan rice crispy treats
Then an array of cookies and sweets...and of course cake!
We had fruit and veggie trays from Costco along with - smoked gouda, crackers and orange fig spread - Costco artichoke dip with pita bites - pretzels - candy buffet - chocolate dipped strawberries & strawberries
For drinks, we had all bottled beverages to go along with our theme. Thomas Kemper, bottled Coke and Izze sodas (all from Costco), Plus a punch which everyone loved.
TTC #2 for a million years: SA normal, CD 23 bloodwork shows nothing amiss, ovulation detected. Next step: ? maybe CD3 bloodwork to check eggs? All out of pocket, so limited IF tests/treatments.
Hot dogs, hamburgers, chips and dip, veggie tray, potato or macaroni salad.
Cake and ice cream.
Sometimes we just do cake and ice cream party. But we have also done BBQ parties. Hot dogs, hamburgers, potato salad, chips and drinks. Capri suns usually for the kiddos and pop for the adults. We also usually do cupcakes and a cake because we have so many people and sometimes do decorate your own cup cakes.

We went to a Bday party on Saturday. The mom is moving this week, and she didn't want to have to deal with food. She got everything from Costco: Hot Dogs, Chips, Potato Salad, and some Annies Crackers. Bday cake was made by costco, and for favors she had a piniata and paper bags for kids to put their goodies in.
Nice, Simple, and FUN!
We are planning foods from the Very Hungry Caterpillar so...
Cake
maybe ice cream (since we will be at a park, no real way to keep it frozen)
A variety of Brats (Braats?)
Fruit Salad
And I am going to have snacks for the babies as well - Puffs, etc.
