Holy suburned belly!

I am a very very dumb girl and managed to burn the crap out of my belly. Went to the lake friday, put sunscreen on except my belly which was covered. It was a weekday so no one was really around, lifted my long bathing suit top to just "get a little color on the belly." BAD MOVE.

WTF was I thinking???? I am lobster red and so uncomfortable and alone on the couch b/c I sent DH to the baseball game we already had tickets to with friends. I am so mad at myself. End Vent.

Well, you could alter between a few different things. Buy some aloe and keep slathering that on. Also at some tanning salons you might be able to find "hempz" which is an after sun lotion. It has really good things in it, and will help hydrate your fried belly. Now for the next time you go out, even if you want a little sun, put on a sunscreen with a lower spf so you only get a little color.

Thanks for the suggestion of the hempz, I will try and call around to see where I could get it. I have been slathering on the aloe and drinking lots of water. It's just ironic b/c I am so the sun tan lotion police of my family. Embarrassed

I definately won't be doing any shirt lifting again anytime soon!

Well again, if you wanted a little color on your belly, you could have found a different sunscreen with a lower spf for your stomach. Think about it. they make 5, 10, etc etc, 50, etc... So obviously they are not all created equal, so you could use a lower one next time, but do remember that while pregnant your hormones are all over the place, and you might be suseptible to burns easier while pregnant.

A lot of women burn easily while pregnant. Just make sure you stay hydrated and aloe'd up like you said you've been doing and I think you should be fine. Next time, make sure you slather on the sun screen even if you don't think you'll have your belly uncovered.
