Evangeline- NN's?

I have never been a huge NN person- in fact I named my boys names they wouldn't really have NN for. What would you call a girl named Evangeline? Her whole name, or a NN? I don't want to call her Eva, what other NN do you think could be used?

I am a nn kind of person. When I think of names I always think of what the nn would be, but honestly w/ a great name like Evangeline I would want to use the whole name b/c no nn is going to be as fab.

i would only call her what she preferred to go by. a lot of my friends have longer names like katherine that are usually turned into nn's but almost all of them went by katherine and nobody would just make up nn's for them.

if you're looking for some cute nn's (and i LOVE evangeline, btw) i've seen evie [ee-vee], lina [lee-nuh], angie, ellie, linnie [lynn-ee], van, and vanna.

i would go with evie if it were me.

My SIL's name is Angelina and she goes by her whole name or Angie.

I agree that with a four syllable name, NNs are inevitable. As an Elizabeth, I've answered to every nn in the book, and as I got older I wished my parents had just settled on one so when people asked I could tell them one.

For Evangeline, I prefer the nn Evie. It's cute but not overly popular.

I think nicknames are inevitable but you can ask that she primarily go by her full name if that's the preference. Of course, remember she might choose a nickname herself if she wants.

This one of the names in Dh's family, and they all go by Eva for short. You can pick a nickname for her now but when she gets older she will go by whatever she wants/people call her, so if you really don't like the NN Eva maybe you should reconsider.

My Evangeline is either Evangeline or Evie. Her brother calls her Evie or E Mae.

Love the name. Van is cute as a nn, Ange is cute too.

Evie is nice, I don't see lina or ellie so much.

Evan is another option. There's an actress Evan Rachel Wood or something.

This is our girl name choice too. It is very pretty. I am thinking that the baby would be nn angie, but I guess it really depends on the child. I think the nn will just kind of emmerge naturally as you get to know her.

DD's name is Evangeline and we mainly call her Evangeline or Evie (Eve). Sometimes we call her Vangie but not very often.
