1 year anniversary gift ideas? (is it paper?)

My BFF's MIL is throwing her and her DH a party for their 1 year wedding anniversary this weekend and I have to quickly figure out what to get them for a gift!

Any suggestions?? is it paper for the first year?? so like, what, stationary?? i'm at a loss.

    Yes, it is paper or clocks.  We gave each other new watches and our tickets to Disneyland for our anniversary trip.

    You could do stationery or tickets to an event (baseball game, theater tickets, etc) or try to find a cool clock for their home.

    How about wrapping up some toilet paper and don't put your name on it and sneak it in with the other gifts.

     

    I have no idea for a real gift.

    Stationery, a book of love quotes or poems, or a journal...my mom had given me a journal to write and reflect on every anniversary that we celebrated. :)

    I gave DH a framed picture and he gave me a book.  (Oh and we also went on a cruise). ;)
    Nobody said life would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it.
