This is a spin on a fun post on the 2nd tri board. DH and I often joke about how we're going to have "required viewing" in our home of certain movies, television shows, etc. we will force our children to endure (for their own good of course)...and so they will understand all our inside jokes.
What are some of your favorite movies or telvision shows on DVD that you will force your children to watch?
Re: POLL: How Shall You Indoctrinate Your Children? :-)
1. The Muppet Show - the original one, not the crappy version from the 90s.
2. Family Ties - DH loves that show
3. Fraggle Rock
4. The Goonies
5. (If we have a girl) The Little Princess with Shirley Temple.
Unable to even.

You don't understand the appeal of Benedict Cumberbatch / think he's fug / don't know who he is? WATCH SHERLOCK. Until you do, your negative opinion of him will not be taken seriously.
Looney Tunes...the old ones that DH grew up on (he is 10 years older then me)
Sesame Street - any version will do, but we love "old school"
Disney Cartoons/Movies - 101 dalmations, Bambi, The Jungle Book, Lady and the Tramp
Annie
Wild Wild West (currently DH and DD are working through season 3, and she loves it, I do not)
Fraggle Rock
all the Pixar movies
Jem! ?
?
once she's a little older - The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth
Bio & Blog | The Chic Bambino | Bumps & Babies Fair
Old school Sesame Street, Muppet Show, Fraggle Rock
Mr. Rogers Neighborhood (not on DVD, but channel 9 still airs it, thank goodness)
Mary Poppins, Oliver, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Flubber, Bedknobs and Broomsticks, Polyanna, Parent Trap
Wild America with Marty Stauffer
I *wish* I could get all the old 3-2-1 Contact (and Bloodhound Gang) episodes.
?
For us, it's the Cosby Show, hands down. They WILL watch all eight seasons and I might even throw in a quiz in the end..lol I started watching/comprehending that show when I was 3, I'm sure they can manage! LOL
* All Pixar movies to date
* Mary Poppins
* The Lion King
* Fraggle Rock
* Old school Sesame Street
* Mr. Roger's Neighborhood
When they get older, there are a whole host of films I'd love them to see, but one for sure is: Finding Forrester
Cosby Show (definitely!) and Roseanne -->Although this is more me. DH wasn't allowed to watch much tv unless it was his dad's pick.
Garfield Christmas and Claymation Christmas
Spaceballs and Raising Arizona
Most Disney and Pixar films, but especially Alice in Wonderland, Little Mermaid, and Shrek.
Without this basic education, my child would never survive a family dinner with my side. :-)
DH would say MacGuyver, Star Wars (all) and Harry Potter (all).

Angel, that's awesome! Most people don't even seem to know Raising Arizona. It's quoted regularly in my family.
