Back in my younger and healthier days, I used to work out alot and drink protein shakes daily. They really helped me feel better. But I can not remember for the life of me what I used!
Anyone have a recommendation? I remember how hard it was when I started them because they were nasty, I eventually found one I liked, chocolate flavored. So it was like a snack.
Re: Drink Protein shakes?
It's muscle milk "light" I use them too.
I drink protein shakes for dinner a few nights a week b/c I don't really like many other protein options. I found this recipe online, had to fudge w/it a little til it came out to my liking, so it might be worth a try for you. And you'll be skeptical, but if you don't mind testing it out, try it. I swear it's super yummy. Also, it's kinda on the thick side (not like milkshake thick though), so if you like them more watery, add ice. I made this for a friend who really liked the taste, but prefers hers thinner.
1st put 1/2c.-1c. frozen broccoli in blender (broccoli cuts work great) and hit puree then liquify until it's really fine (you don't want any chunks). Then add 1c. skim milk, a little splenda, less then 1/4 package of sugar-free pudding mix (whatever flavor you like, and this also thickens it up), and 1 scoop of vanilla or chocolate Whey (don't know if that's the brand name or not, usually get it from Vitamin World) protein powder and hit blend, then liquify, then whip. Soooo good!
I know, frozen broccoli? But I swear you don't taste it at all! I also make sure to drink it w/in like 10min, but have gone 20min. and still had no broccoli taste. When I 1st made this I added all the ingredients together at once and even though I didn't taste any broccoli, it wasn't pureed enough and I still had to swollow chunks and bits of the florets. Good luck! Let me know if you do this and like it.
*insert sperm joke here*
Sorry--couldn't resist!
