Hey everyone! My DH told me last week that he is ready to start trying...WOO HOO!!! I have been waiting for him to say that for over a year now! Anyway, the question I have is, how long did it take you to finally get your BFP?! I have gotten a little discouraged reading many of the posts in the TTC board, and I am starting to worry about not being able to conceive. Anyway, congratulations to you all...and hopefully I will be chatting it up with all of you in just a few months!!!

Re: How long did it take you to get preggo?
It doesn't matter how long it took me, as everyone is different, as you should know from reading the ttc boards.
edit: also, I am pregnant, not spaghetti sauce.
I got pregnant each time on our first try. I had two miscarriages though. We're pregnant again and everything's great! Good Luck to you!
Oh and try not to stress about getting pregnant. That takes all the fun out of it!
Welcome. First of all, do not say preggo. You will get flamed here. Secondly, you should read Taking Charge of your Fertility and check out fertilityfriend.com. These will help you!
It took me 2 months off BCP. Good luck!
I got pg the first cycle. I felt that way too, I thought for sure that it will take me a few months- but here I am
) Everyone's body is different so don't be discouraged and just see how it goes! good luck!
If her question annoyed you, just don't answer, you don't have to be rude! Its nice to have some reassurance/guidance when going through this exciting time.

Off BCP in 12/08. BFP 4/09 with a CP. Another BFP 5/09.
Good luck
Boo hoo!!!
Really, there is no guidance to give her. I got pregnant the first cycle after my hysteroscopy, but that certainly doesn't give her any insight into how long it will take her.
Thanks y'all. I was just curious. Because I just can't freakin' wait!!!!
P.S. Sorry about the spaghetti sauce...didn't know.
I am sure you are excited. Good luck.
Eh, it doesn't bother everyone. I personally don't use it but I don't care if others do.
14 months. Good luck!
Good luck to you..
And I don't use "preggo" but it doesn't really bother me when other people do either. Just something for people to nitpick, I guess.
Not trying for m/c #1.
4 cycles (1 anovulatory) for m/c #2.
1st cycle post m/c (not told to wait, as there was no surgery) for cervical ectopic.
2 cycles post-methotrexate (drug to end ectopic pregnancy) for this current pregnancy. Total time pregnant, recovering or actively ttc/since we started ttc = 11 months.

My Blog
Seven years.
I echo what lecooke said: TCOYF and Fertility Friend are very useful.
Word of caution about Fertility Friend, though: do not trust it to 'give you' a date of ovulation. Depending on your fertility signs on any given day, the software may 'move' your o date back and forth, which many newbies find frustrating, because it can cause them to miss the window of opportunity for intercourse. It's probably best to get to know your body, which TCOYF is oh-so-good at helping out with, and then interpreting your data yourself on FF.
Hope that helps!
Heather was not rude. She was factual. She didn't call names, she was not condescending, she didn't advice the OP to go eff herself or tell her off. She gave her real, concrete advice in response to her question.
I think you need to re-evaluate what is rude and what is not.

We went of birth control and officially told people that we were not trying, but not avoiding either. I got one period after BC and then missed. Now, there is a wonderful goodness going on inside my womb. Good luck!
?
I should also add that my husband and I have sex a lot. So I was kind of surprised it took us over a month.?
I've gotten a BFP each time we've TTC but we used a Fertility Monitor. My first pregnancy ended in miscarriage at 8wks.
Good luck, and don't get discouraged

Hi there - it happened for us on the first try. I went off BC at the beginning of February and it happened for us in April. If you want it to happen right away, you can always use the ovulation test strips. Two of my sisters used them and they worked right away. They simply tell you when you're ovulating and are pretty cheap. Just do a search online and you'll find them. I bought some, but haven't needed them, which I know is very lucky. It does vary quite a bit for everyone, so just make sure you're ready in case it happens the first time : D
Good luck - don't stress and just have fun!!!
