She is listed in stable condition at the moment.
Ok after getting info from my mom, brother, and sister I think I have all the info...my mom left some stuff out that she told my brother and sister.
2 broken legs, broken arm, broken ankle, fractured skull, bruised lungs, laceration on her liver, 2 broken vertabea (at the ends), broken pubic bone, 6 inch gash across her forehead. She has a bruise on her brain, but it is starting to go down, however they are talking about drilling into her skull to release some pressure - but the over night nurse and doc felt this didn't need to be done.
She's sedated mainly due to the pain, when they took her off sedation meds so the neurologist could assess her, her blood pressure sky rocketed, but she did move her hand and squeeze my mom's hand.
She's on a vent, set at 15 but she's at 28, so breathing some on her own.
Major major road rash, and poor kid is going to have a major scar across her forehead.
It sounds like the person that hit her was going at least 70, in a 45 mph zone.
I can't remember what I wrote last night, but she was hit flew through the air (my poor brother saw this) and hit the guard rail.
Re: Update on my niece...
How horrible! I hope she gets on the mend quickly.
So scary!

Dear heavens. . . your niece, your family and her medical team will continue to be in my prayers. I can't imagine how scary this is, for everyone.
I hope the police catch or have caught the bastard who did this. 70 mph in at 45 mph zone? We've all sped once in our life, but 25 mph OVER theset speed limit????? I'm sure it was an accident--but one that could have been prevented if the driver had not been driving so recklessly. Makes my blood boil!
Again, healing thoughts and prayer for your niece. Thanks for the update.

My oldest brother went over to their house and he's friends w/ some of the first responders (my brother -Kayla's dad is a firefighter as well) ...anyways their estimates were at least 70. Young kid, in a car...thank god it wasn't a truck. He said when he left the state police were doing their re-enactment. I do not think the kid was arrested at the time. But that was really my last concern.
My poor brother had to run down to her with his 2 yr old following behind. The neighbor across the street tried to take her but she flipped out. He called 911 and then my mom (she lives like a minute away). My mom held the pressure bandage on her forehead.

Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry. ?I hope she continues to be in stable condition and improves. ?Poor sweetheart.
?
Did they catch the guy who hit her? ??
I am so, so sorry.......I can't even imagine. Everytime I open your posts I am holding my breath. I hope she has a speedy recovery.
I really hope that the driver got a ticket for speeding..........
Oh well he wasn't arrested last I knew, but he did stop. It sounded like a young kid. Yes she ran out in the road, but if he had been going the speed limit, she could be looking at like a broken leg and just bruised up as opposed to the huge list of injuries.

I'm keeping your family in my prayers.
It really is reassuring that she is doing about half of the work of breathing, and was able to squeeze your mom's hand.
Oh my goodness, I am almost in tears reading all of this. I pray that your niece continues to heal and that her parents can find some peace. How absolutely horrific.
I hope that poor thing isn't in too much pain for long.

OMG...that is terrible!!
I hope she is on the mend very quickly!! Sounds like she ought to be able to get off the vent as soon as they are able to ease up on the sedation a bit. Keep in mind that part of the BP going up was likely her freaking out about being on the vent...and is pretty normal for her situation. Bless her heart!
Prayers coming!!!

I'm just signing on and I haven't seen your original post. I'm so sorry that you and your family are going through this and I hope your niece feels better soon.
