I was just watching a video on youtube of an 11 week u/s, which is what I'll be at my next appointment. I was honestly amazed at how much the baby has developed by that stage! I'm wondering if the Dr's would think it is strange if we video taped the u/s? We would like to share it with FIL who lives out of state.
Re: Anyone bring a video camera to u/s?
We did that twice so our parents could see the ultrasounds. ?Just be sure to ask the dr. or the tech beforehand. ?My peri said something about having to make sure that she records whatever we record, for insurance purposes, and she had to make sure that she had enough memory left on her machine to be able to do that, etc., so she didn't let us record the whole thing--just the last couple of minutes. ?My OB's techs never had a problem with it. ?
It kind of stinks to record it, actually, because you don't really get to pay attention to the actual experience of the ultrasound. ?If you can get your husband to hold the camera, that'd be ideal. ??

DH recorded every single one of our u/s (and we had something like 12 of them). No one ever said a word about the legality of it and we had 4 different techs. He did use a regular digital camera on the video setting, though, so maybe they didn't realize what we were actually doing?
If you can get away with it, I recommend it - I love having all our u/s on tape!
