mid-cycle RED blood with EWCM?!????!!?

hey girls - i'm slightly freaking out here. i woke up this morning (CD13) to pretty strong "period-like" cramps. i went to the bathroom and wiped and had bright red blood with gobs and gobs of EWCM!!! WHAT THE HECK?? (it was enough blood that i thought i would need a light tampon)

this is NEVER happened to be before!!! i have ALWAYS had very regular 27 day cycles - with never any bleeding "mid-cycle". this cycle i did spot a lot longer after AF but so far that has been the only difference. And yesterday i had WCM....as if geering up to O. has this happened to anyone else?

ugh...guess i need to call my dr. and not google!

I have never had that happen. I hope its nothing serious. I would make that phone call to the doctor. Good luck.

Isn't there such thing as ovulation bleeding. I think pink or red ewcm is considered the absolute most fertile.

A call to the doc never hurts.

I spot for several days before gearing up to O, and it sometimes gets pretty red/pink.

My flow is usually pretty light, but the color ranges from brown to bright red. This cycle it showed up for a day, went away, then came back for a day or two. Last cycle it lasted 4 days straight.

It was one and off for 2 days, I had a light flow tampon in for 2 days and didn't have to change it very often.

Don't freak out!! I've had O Spotting since last monday - and it's petterd off, nothing that a panty liner can't handle - very light but combined with some cramps. I think it's called mittel schmertz or something of the sort. Do some reading on O Spotting, and Implementation Spotting too...it'll put your mind at ease. Smile

ditto. i thought I was messed up or something and it worried be for a bit until these lovelies said it means your really fertile. so i jumped DH and now i'm growin a kid!

Yes, Bright Red. Lasted for about 15 minutes. I could have used a Jr. sized tampon, I'd say. I actually started freaking out because it was when we were on the cruise and we had just pulled into port- meaning the stores were closed. I was convinced I had gotten AF and wasn't going to be able to get any tampons.

i commited the "great sin" and googled. it surprisingly has not sounded like a "bad thing".

found this: According to the book Taking Charge of your Fertility by Toni Weschler, a day or 2 light bleeding right around ovulation is normal. It is another fertitlity sign that can help us identify where we are in our cycle. Its usually the result of sudden drop of estrogen just before ovulation
