DS is 10 months today and just refuses to clap! His fine motor skills are good, he's been picking up food with his pincher grasp since 7 months, but he just won't clap. We clap in front of him, we take his hands and make the clapping motion... he splashes in the bath, he takes the palm of his hand and smacks our chest... just won't put the two hands together!
I'm not worried about his development... I just want to see the cuteness of my baby clapping!
Re: Late Clappers?
we are in the same boat. DD has yet to clap i have been trying to get her to clap since she was 7 months old- lol. it i say how big is emma she will hold her hands up above her head, she also does great with the pincher grasp.?
if i try to clap her hands together she usually pulls her arms away like she is mad that i am trying to make her do something she doesn't want to do. i am convinced she is holding out on clapping on purpose just to spite me
?
DS will be 9 months on Thursday and he won't do it either. Even when I try to bring his hands together to clap, he won't even open them...he keeps them clenched in fists!
He also used to wave hi, but now he stopped and won't do it anymore.
