What NOT to do when playing
Geez I need another weekend just to recover from the past week.
Last Thursday night Katen hops off the couch and slams her head into our coffee table. If you've ever tried to keep a toddler in one place to ice her head, you know it's impossible. Of course she gets a big black eye... and of course I was in a wedding this weekend so eeeeveryone got to see what a "fabulous" parent I must be. ug. (nevermind that I had to wear a bridesmaid dress at 15wks pg. ick.)
Then, I'm having a lot of pain/cramping and I'm fairly cool about it through the wedding, etc thinking it's just that my body simply isn't used to standing in heels for a stinkin' hour and a half wedding ceremony. However it continued, I get panicky, and long story short my cervix is shortening. Not to alarming levels yet but it's getting shorter. I need to reduce activity. ...with a toddler. Right.
So I've got all of that going for me when DH is playing with Katen tonight and she lets out this shriek. She won't stop crying and is favoring an arm. Apparently he lifted her by her arms and that caused her elbow to pop out of joint so we had to go to the ER to get it popped back in. More shrieking. I was sure based on the already black eye that they were going to send in child protective services. lol! She's back to using her arm now though but we can't lift her by her arms (we shouldn't have anyway) until she's at least 5 yrs old because now she's predisposed to having that happen again. No monkey bars for this kid.
So now I sit here thinking wow... things could be a lot worse but I need a vacation. 
The moral of the story is this: DO NOT lift your child by their arms and don't leave a coffee table sitting in the way of your kid's head.

Oy vey.....that's all I have to say. And, don't worry.....reading this, I can totally relate! ha! Connor gives me a heart attack every.single.day. The kid is out of control and I'm constantly crampy.
Oh....did I mention that I have to wear a bridesmaid dress when I will be 29 weeks PG??? fun! fun!
I'm sorry you are dealing with all of this......I guess its motherhood, right??? I hope your cervix holds up!
Oh that's right! Yes I really feel for you on that one. ...and you've got the bridezilla who won't budge on the dress style too, right? UG!!
I'm just going to keep taking my p17shots and hope for the best.
I'm not quite at 2.5cm yet so that's positive and the shots will help relax it. I just didn't need that added stress. lol!
My mom actually was just laid off so if I need help she can come up for a while. I think it will be okay though, for now. This has just been a very crampy pregnany. Very different from the last one. I go back on Friday for another check.
Oh man!!! That is sooo gonna be my child... He already has a scare under his chin from some stairs, his face and a brick chimney. All because I said- Be careful and he turned to look at me!
Try to rest as much as you can during the evening!!! I bet she's cute with a black eye!

I'm sorry about your cervix, I'm glad you went in and I remember they will be monitoring you closely because they never found out why you delivered early last time right?
Ugh, sorry about the ER visit and the black eye. my dh likes to lift by the arms and I tell him 'no', but as seasoul said in other post -no common sense.

Actually now that I really think about it, it shouldn't be too hard. We do a lot of walking here and there and I chase after Katen a lot playing games, so I can cut down on those activities. I'll also stop mowing the lawn and carrying K when it's not necessary.
I was told up until this point that I didn't need to be too cautious about activity, so I wasn't.
