3D Ultrasound at 16 Weeks-should we do it?

So we had an u/s yesterday and we thought we were going to be able to see if we are having a boy or a girl. At 10wks our OB saw something protruding and gave us the idea it may be a boy. So we've been thinking it's a boy until yesterday when we could not confirm one or the other.

DH is super curious (I as well). Our next u/s is June 29th.

Today I thought-what if we got a 3D u/s today? There's a place open 7 days a week and charges $99 for 15 min scan.

Do you guys think it's silly? Should we just be patient and wait?

At 16 weeks it's a waste. I would just wait until your anatomy scan. Use the $100 for something else!

We did one at 15 1/2 wks b/c I couldn't wait any longer. I wanted to know. For us it was great to see him again and was worth the $75 we spent for it. If you have the $99 and really want to know now then do it.

I agree, hold out til your anatomy scan and spend your hundo on something else! Or do the 3d scan later in your pgcy.

I would hold out until atleast 24 weeks for a 3d cause that way you can get the whole experience of it and see how much your little one has grown, those things are expensive...I know ours was $159 and that was the cheapest package.

We had a 3D done at 17 weeks and honestly it was the coolest experience of the pregnancy thus far. We were amazed at how much we could see and it really helped us feel more comfortable and attached. I watch the DVD several times a week and each time it is like seeing it for the first time. And the tech was able to determine the gender with no problem.
