ok so DS has a problem with what DH and I call "the transition"...he will fall asleep and then WHENEVER we try to move him he wakes up. Sometimes its immediate, and sometimes its 5 minutes later. We've tried swaddling.
He will fall asleep in arms, but you lay him down and he wakes up. He will fall asleep in the car or stroller, but the SECOND you go to move the carseat inside (even if making it as still as possible) he wakes up. Any suggestions????
We've tried rocking him IN the carseat and then just leaving him, and have had some success but not always and Ir eally worry that he will then not be able to be put down even more.
Re: need help....
First, don't worry about him not being able to be put down b/c you let him sleep in the carseat... they can't develop habits yet.. at this point all three of need sleep.. do whatever works!
Have you tried letting her fall asleep in the swing? Thisis the only way dd would fall asleep at first, and we would bring the swing in our room and let her stay there all night.. nothing wrong with it.. she still falls asleep mostly in the swing, but we can now move her and usuallly she won't wake up.. even if she does, she now can fall asleep on her own.. worth a shot!
he won't fall asleep in the swing at all!
he will get JUST there and cry and the second you pick him up, then he will fall asleep! its a vicious cycle!
We had the same problem when we would try to get her to sleep in her crib. This has been a lifesaver, it distracts her and she falls right back to sleep. Love it, worth every penny. We found ours at Wal-Mart.

I suck at this too, but my husband is a pro.
I don't know about when in the carseat, but when placing in crib my husband swears by putting the head down first and keeping one hand on top of his chest or arms for a couple of seconds once he is down. Not sure if it will help but may be worth a try?
