C-Section Ques

Do you guys still have numbness around your incision? ?There are still some spots that I can't feel at all around my incision. ?It is so weird to touch it and not feel it. ?Anyways, I was wondering if this is normal. ?I know that it can take awhile for the nerve endings to regrow or something like that, it just seems like it has been a long time.
Nothing to see here....

Re: C-Section Ques

  • I did for a long time with my last one... I think around 18 months out or so it was all pretty much back to normal except for one tiny spot at the very edge of my incision that never regained feeling.

  • That's good to know... ?I guess it doesn't really bother me, but just feels weird.

  • I'm only 11 weeks post c/s, so I'm still numb.    I think it is sooo weird that I can pinch myself there, poke myself and not feel anything but this weird numbness.

  • I think it was around 10 months-ish that I finally got all the feeling back around my incision.  Of course now I'm getting ready to go through it again!  It's definitely very weird, I agree.

  • It is normal and I have heard it from a lot of people.  However, I can still feel everything like normal.   But, I also have another incision that I had surgery on that I also feel everything at too, so maybe I''m just on the few people that return to feeling everything.  Actually, of everyone that I've talked to who has had a c/s, they feel numb there, guess I'm just odd lol
  • Lately, it seems like the numbness is going away, but itching is returning.  If only I could find a way to scratch from within.

  • I had a myomectomy in September 2006 and had a few numb spots where I never got feeling back.  After my c/s the area of numbness got larger.  I don't know of anything you can take to get feeling back.  The worst is when it itches really bad but when you go to scratch the area is numb..such an odd sensation.

  • I did... until Acu. She does a lot of needles around it and it has made a big difference.
