Parenting after a Loss

Does anyone have a microwave sterilizer for bottles?

We love ours, but I worry about microwaving plastic that much..sometimes they come out kinda foggy..We sterilize every time she uses it.

Any thoughts on this?

  • I used it twice and then ditched it for the D/W or handwashing

  • Mr. Newt LOVES this thing--he sterilizes anything that isn't nailed down.  I have the same worry about heating plastic so much, but since they took the BPA out of everything, it should be safe, right?

We haven't had anything come out looking cloudy except when he nuked a pacifier one time.  We don't use that one anymore.

  • My stuff comes out cloudy too.  I thought it was from hard water.  I just wipe it off and use whatever I need.  My stuff comes out cloudy from the dishwasher too.

Hmm, I wonder if it would be different if I used filtered water in the sterilizer.  I'll try that next time.

  • We only use ours to sterilize before the first use  and then we use the dishwasher....
