Nasal congestion - newborn

Did anyone's newborn have nasal congestion? Andi has been congested for 2 days now. I called the dr and they said to get saline drops for her nose and then use the snot sucker to get everything out... I did this last night and it really hasn't helped much.

I'm contemplating calling the dr again and asking that they take a look.

    My LO is really congested now- hr's 4 months...he has some post nasal drip stuff going on and he is snotty and throwing up more with all the dripping going on.  We are just using the saline drops and snot sucker too...I hate watching him go through it...If it will make you feel better, call the doctor...there is no need for you to constantly worry and maybe it will make you feel better.  I hope he is feeling better soon!

    Alex started getting stuffy right around 2 weeks old and it has continued off and on since then.  I've been using saline drops too and haven't gotten much out with the syringe.  A friend of mine suggested propping his mattress up so he sleeps on an incline and using a cool mist humidifier.  It has gotten progressively better so I haven't done either of those things but they are on my list to try if it continues.  Hope she feels better!

    my son has allergies and has had congestions off and on since birth. Ditto the PP. Use the saline drops and sucker, incline the mattress (use a rolled up towel), and run the humidifier.  That is all the doctors' will tell you. If your child is having difficulty breathing, take him to the doctor or the ER.

    after abby being congested so long, they now say its reflux related. if your LO has other reflux stmptoms, might rubn that idea by your pedi

    Thanks ladies... She has been having some reflux issues lately. I think I might call dr to see what he thinks. I just hate seeing her so stuffy and congested.

    sometimes Ayden sounds congested but there isn;t anything 2 suction out.  AND he's been really fussy the last few days. not sure if its a cold, reflux or something i ate.
