My DH has a company bbq tomorrow, and I said we can bring the monkey bread because when I sent it to my DH in Iraq, they all absolutely loved it and said it made them feel like home, which is exactly what you go for as an Army wife.
Anyways, I have to make three and can't find the motivation (actually after what I just mentioned above, I think I'm finding my inspiration...). I feel like I just need that one thing to push me over the edge and I'll be baking like crazy!!
Anyone else having a momentary laziness attack??
Re: Can I back out?
All the time lately!!

I have said I am going to make cookies for a week now.
DO IT! Everyone will love it!
I don't have a special reason like that, otherwise my cookies would be made.
I'm definitely not. It's just one of those days where I take a second to get started, but once I do, I'm unstoppable
They do make frozen monkey bread! This is just what I was going to say, I would buy a couple frozen ones and stick them in the oven.
I could, but if I don't have to buy stuff, I won't. I prefer home baked goods, as do the majority of the soldiers my DH works with
I think I'd be shunned if I brought monkey bread that had been frozen!!!! There's nothing like the warm, sticky goodness of monkey bread! Has to be fresh!!
If by "momentary laziness" you mean "complete and total lack of desire for anything not related to taking it easy" then yes, I am onboard!
Not an everyday thing, but it happens. Make the bread, then post the recipe, I have never made Monkey Bread before!
Is money bread hard to make?
I wouldnt back out since the BBQ is just one day away. Maybe you can make a deal with your DH to make it less daunting - you cook and he cleans?
It is worth it! Here ya go...
Monkey Bread-
*4 cans buttermilk refrigerated biscuits (Grand's works just fine)
*1 3/4 cups Sugar
*1 1/2 sticks (3/4) cup butter or margarine
*1 1/2 tablespoons cinnamon
Quarter biscuits and shake them, 8 at a time, in a bag with 3/4 cup of the sugar and all the cinnamon. Put biscuits in a greased bundt pan. Bring remaining 1 cup sugar and all the butter to a boil. Pour over the biscuits. Bake at 350* for 45 minutes. Remove from pan immediately and let cool.
Enjoy!
***my grandma taught me how to make this and always used canned biscuits because it was easier when I was little. I still do it the same because you get the same raves about it either way!
Believe me, I have plenty of bouts of laziness. I'll admit that I have definitely played the pregnancy card a few times to get out of things. I figure this only time I can get away with it
But the monkey bread recipe looks easy enough to make (I'll have to try it) you should go ahead and make it. You'll feel better about it after.
That sounds delicious...I may have to try this!
Delicious AND healthy
