DH keeps saying he only wants one now

Do you think he will change his mind?

When we were first married, he wanted 2-3.  But after DD, he thinks she is enough!

The first three months were REALLY hard.  DD is not an easy baby at all, and the only time DH gets to interact with her is when he gets home from work and she is tired and grouchy.  The weekends are better, but I think he just sees her as all work and very little joy, though I know he loves her immensely.

  • Wait until she gets a little older.  I think guys have a hard time with the newborn stage but once they are a little more interactive they start to have more fun.

  • My husband was scared of having another one too, now he is all for the idea!! I think it's the early, difficult months that make them rethink it, hopefully he will change his mind!

  • My DH is the same way...our baby is a high maintenance baby...he isn't easy at all.  And I get up with him 4 times plus a night...he does not at all.

I say also give it time.  I'm hoping DH will change his mind.  I hope yours will.  I think once babies become more interactive, guys like things more.

  • DH says this sometimes too, but as he is getting older, he is getting over it.  I think if you give him time, he will change his mind.
  • We've got the same scenario going on over here, too, but it's me that now thinks I just want one and DH who is eager for a second (we'd always planed on two).
  • The same thing happened to us. DH originally wanted 2, I wanted 3. After DD, he said he didn't want anymore. She had colic and was just a SUPER HARD baby.  Then when she turned a year, out of the blue he decided he was ready to start trying again!! Give it time.
