Does your dc try to drink from the water table or bathtub?

We've had to remove all cup-like or curved objects from ds's bath or water table because he uses them as cups to drink the water. Yesterday, he just leaned straight over and tried to suck down water straight out of the water table. He's not thirsty because I make sure to offer him a sippy of water before his bath and when he's outside playing with the table. I'm sure it's just the novelty of it. Anyone else's LO do this?

    All the time!!  Sometimes he takes to much in and starts to cough but than goes right back and does it again!

    yup, DS does the same thing.  What I do is give him the big cup in the tub and fill it with fresh water from the faucet.  That keeps him busy because he has to slowly bring the cup up without splashing up his nose.

    Yep! She does it with cups, but she also just leans down and tries to drink straight from the tub or the pool.

    yep.. DD does that all the time in the tub! I figure it's a good non-messy way for her to practice drinking out of a "cup" ;) Before we use soap of course!

    We have yet to use the water table because it's still too cold.. or rainy Crying

    Yup. ?I try to keep her busy with the cups so she doesn't drink out of them. ?But she still tries. ?I think it's good that she's practicing drinking from a cup but when I think about what's in her bathwater it makes me gag. ?

    When she tried to drink straight from the tub I give her 1 warning then I pull her out. ?It makes me mental to think she could drown by doing something so stupid. ?

    My DS fills up the cup & dumps the whole thing in his mouth. I'm sure he doesn't get the chance to drink any of it. He thinks it's the funniest thing. I'm afraid he's going to drown himself.
