Hi, Sister TTC@35+ers.
I've had a crappy day at work. In honor of that, let me ask you this:
You have just come upon a gazillion dollars - lottery, unknown relative, ingenious invention, take your pick. Now whaddya gonna do?
Me: DH and I would head north to the mountain where our small cabin is. We would expand said cabin to about 1,200 square feet of perfection, with everything hand made by local craftspeople or ourselves. Other than that, we would BD, hike through the woods, start a gentlewoman's farm with a super big vegetable garden, small orchard and chickens. If the BD'ing doesn't work, we'll pay the best fertility docs in the country to get us pregnant. And adopt a few kids, too. Why not? Oh, and there's a trip to Italy in there somewhere, too.
Ok, that's my escapist fantasy du jour. What's yours?
Re: Escapist Fantasy Survey - not necessarily TTC related
I hear you on the crappy day.
I'd pay off our house and give my parents a ton of money for being awesome parents. Then I'd give my brother and sister some money to help them out. Next, I'd go down to Baja and buy a super cool vacation home and live there all winter. I'd come back to Chicago in the summers. Once we had kids, I'd hire personal tutors for them so they could travel around the world with us and not miss out on school. I'd take tons of trips and maybe try to start some really cool bilingual schools that have the best equipment and materials. I'd also get a dog.
Oh, yeah. And a makeover and new wardrobe. But I'd keep my old Buick until it died.
I am sorry about your crappy day.
I would help out a lot of people I know, that would make me happy. I would by a nice home in Florida. And of course spoil every child I know.
You are most definitely invited! Just saw your update, QE. I'm so excited for you!
Hmmmm.....I like this game, especially right now when money seems so tight!
I would buy a bigger house with a nice sized yard, preferably something that backs up to a lake with some woods near by as well. ?DH would need a new car, the Civic is about to fall apart. ?I would give some to my mom, so she wouldn't have to worry about her finances. ?Oh, and definitely travel. ?I went to Paris in 2003 and have been dying to go back ever since. ?I would like to see pretty much all of Europe, and DH would like to go to Egypt. ?If there's still a few gazillion left, a safari would be awesome. ?I think after IVF I can handle the shots! ?I could go on and on and on!?
1) quit my summer school job
2) drag my husband onto a plane for a 2 month european trip
3) save so I CAN stay home when the time comes
4) support DH trying for a broadcast career and travel with him and the team
