Ok, so DS can drink out of a cup & sip from a straw...

but he can't handle a sippy (non-straw) cup.

Is that weird?

    Same here.  I'm not too worried about it though.  It's not like they will ever use a sippy cup again after this stage.

    yeah, she never figured out the sippy cup either.  We're just giving her a little water in a straw cup with her meals.  At first she would suck down too much and choke a little, but now she's a pro.

    DS does the same thing. He loves drinking out of a straw but doesn't get the sippy cup.
